FRIENDS Plotline That Matthew Perry Refused to Do.

The show FRIENDS that first aired in 1994 still manages to rule our hearts. Who could possibly forget it? I mean I can imagine myself being 40 years old and constantly be forcing my children to watch it. It would be safe to say that it is the best show that is ever made in the history of television. We have fallen in love with it since the first episode we saw, right? Entry of Rachel in her wedding dresses just after Ross said he wants to be married again and Chandler’s hilarious one-liners “And I just want a million dollars”. We recognized the wittiness and perfect timing of Mr. Bing since we heard this line.On Thursday, actor Matthew Perry a.k.a. Chandler Bing stopped by Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen and revealed some secrets and also talked about FRIENDS. However what stood out most was that time he turned down a weird storyline that included a sandwich and a stripper. Yes, he did reveal a storyline on FRIENDS that he was asked to do and he refused it. Because he thought it would be so unsuitable for Chandler’s character.

“There was a storyline on Friends where Chandler went to a male strip joint because he really liked the sandwiches,” he said, as noted by ET. Are you confused, because we are? Needless to say, some head-scratching was done on Perry’s part as well. “I called up and said, ‘Let’s not do this one.’” He thought that going to a strip club for a sandwich, that’s so not Chandler, I mean the audience will get confused about the character. And this is something that may be Joey would do.The now 47-year-old actor was only 24 when he took the role of Chandler Bing. Little did Perry know this would be a hallmark of his career. Furthermore, he surely didn’t expect to reap the rewards of his 10-year acting “job” years later. Perry also explained to Cohen that he’s indeed thankful for those sporadic residual checks“I get a little something and I go, ‘Hey, that’s nice!’” Perry said. “It’s a really great job… I started the job when I was 24. It was amazing. I had the job from 24 to 34, I’ll never have a job like that ever again.”

Earlier this month the Friends fandom was riled up after a fake reunion announcement made the rounds on the internet. A Facebook account appearing to be run by David Schwimmer a.k.a Ross Geller made the phony update.Matthew recently admitted his favorite Chandler one-liner during an appearance on Good Morning America, which he acerbically delivered in season 2’s episode The One With Ross’ New Girlfriend. The scene features Matt LeBlanc’s Joey trying to persuade Chandler to use his longtime tailor Frank before he begins to become sidetracked and shares too much unnecessary information.

“He did my first suit when I was 15… No, wait, 16… No, excuse me, 15… All right, when was 1990?” Joey ponders before an impatient Chandler can’t resist in quipping: “You have to stop the Q-Tip when there’s resistance.”The 47-year-old was also asked about rumors that the cast had a “no sex” clause in their contracts.Recently, Ross Geller star David said that the clause had been “broken”.However, in the very frank chat, Matthew denied any knowledge of cast members sleeping together. He laughed: “I think there was no sex between any of them or I was really missing something.”Unfortunately for fans desperate for a revival of the much-loved NBC show, Rachel Green actress Jennifer said she could not imagine a revamp happening today because of the advancements in technology.

“We were jokingly saying that if Friends was created today, you would have a coffee shop full of people that were just staring into iPhones,” she told the Huffington Post. She added: “There would be no actual episodes or conversations.
